Damian Slattery has worked in publishing for decades at iconic brands such as Sports Illustrated, TIME, Fortune, and The New Yorker. At SI he spent 20 years as a reporter prior to serving as the brand’s Chief Marketing Officer.
He led marketing teams for TIME, Fortune, and The New Yorker, and, currently, at Fast Company, he is Vice President of Marketing, leading a team dedicated to delivering world-class client solutions for top global brands. Slattery is also a screenwriter who has written numerous scripts, including A DAY IN OCTOBER, filmed in Copenhagen in the early 1990s, and which tells the inspiring tale of the rescue of Danish Jews during World War II, and features Tovah Feldshuh and D.B. Sweeney in the lead roles.
More recently, he’s written an English-language adaptation of the classic Danish film, HARRY AND THE BUTLER, which had been Oscar-nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in 1961, and which is now in development with theater legend and filmmaker George C. Wolfe slated to direct. An experienced documentary writer, Slattery has also written for National Geographic TV, History, Discovery, CNBC, the Travel Channel and more.
