Jaw surgery was mentioned to my family I believe when I was in elementary school as they could not get my upper pallet to move forward despite all efforts. The surgery wasn’t done. I also snored like a freight train back then as a tiny skinny kid. In my mid 20’s I started CPAP therapy. I actually approached my primary care physician and asked for a study as I knew something was wrong. I was fortunate to see posters in physician offices saying you might have OSA if you have these symptoms. Despite CPAP therapy I have suffered my my entire life with Anxiety both general and social. Depression. Mood disorders. Irritability. Anger. Constant fatigue and brain fog. problems getting out of bed in the AM. Memory issues. Gut issues. Food sensitivities. Feeling I’m not functioning at my fullest ability.

I’m a fighter with a lot of mental toughness which is the only thing that has kept me going despite how awful I feel daily. I have been to every physician under the sun to feel better. Naturopathic, functional medicine, Ayurveda etc. Bc of constant jaw fatigue and clenching upon waking I started to investigate jaw surgery a couple of years ag, as I remember I was supposed to have this surgery as a kid. I was fortunate to find Dr David Alfi as I live in Houston. I’m 47 years old and I’m currently prepping for double jaws surgery. I have a very small mouth, crowding and bone loss. I’m told my airway is practically non existent. I’m in the braces stage. I’ve had braces on for maybe 10 months now. I’m so excited to have this surgery as I just know or at least I hope it will be life changing.
