The Airway Revolution was founded on the belief that proper airway health is the foundation of wellness. After witnessing the profound impact airway issues have on physical, mental, and emotional health, our team decided to take action. What started as a small initiative has grown into a nationwide movement.
The Airway Revolution Foundation was established in 2021, inspired by the journey of creating a documentary centered on Sydney Avis’s personal airway story. As filming progressed, it became clear how widespread and devastating airway disorders are, affecting countless lives. The vision expanded from a single documentary into a full documentary series, incorporating the stories of many others impacted by these disorders. This realization ignited a mission to go beyond storytelling—to revolutionize how airway disorders are taught in dental and medical schools and improve access to quality care, so that tens of millions can live healthier lives.

Our Executive Director and Board Chairman met with Congressman Brett Guthrie and former Congressman Dan Donovan to advocate for a congressional hearing on airway disorders. Such a hearing would pave the way for legislative changes, driving support for airway-focused public health initiatives and increasing research funding to address this critical issue.
Board members Dr. Michael Gelb and Dr. Victor Avis were invited to Columbia University to speak with dental students about the significance and impact of airway disorders.

The Airway Revolution hosted its inaugural community health literacy program, offering valuable information about airway disorders to the public. This event marked the beginning of many future programs dedicated to empowering the community with knowledge and resources.
The Airway Revolution Foundation was honored to be invited to speak at Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, Tennessee, in partnership with the Integrative Dental Medicine Scholar Society. This event provided an incredible opportunity to address the entire dental school, educating current students about airway disorders and their profound impact on overall health. By sharing valuable insights and real-world examples, The Airway Revolution aimed to inspire future dental professionals to prioritize airway health in their practice. The presentation emphasized the importance of continuing education on this critical topic to improve the well-being of their future patients and advance the standard of care in dentistry.
The Airway Revolution Foundation has made remarkable strides, completing filming for its groundbreaking documentary series, now in post-production and preparing for distribution. Alongside this, The Airway Revolution continues to host impactful community programs, educating diverse audiences about airway disorders and the foundation’s mission to ignite change. Central to The Airway’s efforts is growing its grassroots movement by inviting individuals impacted by airway health issues to share their stories. These voices help others see themselves in the issue and join the collective call for change. By uniting people around this shared mission, The Airway is building a powerful demand for improved education, increased research funding, and better care for airway disorders.
